While I am not a mother myself, I was raised by a Christian mother and a Christian father. In fact, I started this website Muddling Through Together in honor of my mother, two years after her death. I remember showing my wedding photos to my grandmother, just weeks before she died. She held up a magnifying glass over each person in my photos. Even then, it was hard for her to distinguish everyone.

Quality Time Without Kids

Your wife could use at least two different kinds of breaks: time for just herself, and quality time with you.

Obviously, a lot of factors go into how much quality time you can arrange for your wife as a Mother’s Day gift. How old are your children? Do you have extra money for a baby-sitter or family who can help? What work schedules do you and your wife follow?

It might take some creative planning, but you can still surprise your wife with quality time.

Help your wife get some time for herself by booking a spa day, or by signing her up for a fun local class to learn a new skill. During that time, take full responsibility for your kids.
